Wood Burning Fireplace Inserts with Blower

Instead of warming up your living room, the entire house or a large portion gets heated with the addition of a blower to your fireplace inserts.
Nowadays, the inserts are coming with blowers fitted in them. However, if your insert is an old one, then no need to be worried as you can add the blower by following very simple and easy steps. You can either place the blower in front of the fireplace insert or can put it in the room’s doorway which would keep the entire house warm.

The blower helps in drawing air from the room and pushing back the warm air out of the insert. The blower consists of an electric fan which is mounted inside a vent which is found wrapped around the outer portion of the firebox. However, by adding a blower to your fireplace insert does not mean that the combustion rate of the fire will be increased too. No effect will be caused on the amount of heat produced but, it will rather spread the heat evenly throughout the room or house.

The position of the blower fan is decided by selecting the amount of space to be heated i.e., if you want a large room to be heated only, then place the blower in front of the fireplace insert, and if you want it to heat the entire house, then you must place it on the doorway of the room.

It’s said that the blower increases the efficiency of the wood-burning fireplace insert; however, you must understand that only the amount of space of space heated increases not the amount of heat produced.

Installing a blower to your fireplace insert is an easy task to do; however, it also depends on the power installed at your fireplace unit originally. If a standard 110 volt power was connected to the junction box, then the process of installation would be easier than in the case where no power is provided. With this no power connection installation process, it would not only be tougher experience but an expensive one too.
